CONDUCTING

FELLOWSHIP

The Cortona Sessions Conducting Fellowship will be offered to up to two conductors chosen througha competitive application process. Selected conductors will have the opportunity to lead rehearsals and conduct premiere performances with members of the Cortona Collective and performance participants at the Sessions. In addition, Fellows will work with faculty conductor Jake Wallace on aspects of rehearsing, preparing, collaborating, and commissioning works by living composers. Conductors in attendance will be full participating members of the Sessions, will enjoy all opportunities afforded to participants, including:

   â€¢ attending all workshops, lectures, and masterclasses during the Sessions

   â€¢ receive round-trip train tickets to Florence for excursion
   â€¢ have opportunities to perform, if desired, on their particular instrument

​APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

deadline:  February 9, 2015 (email)

eligibility:  all conductors age 18 and over

application fee:  $25 (paid online via PayPal)

tuition:  $1,200USD

includes:

14 nights in Hotel Oasi Neumann w/breakfast 

round-trip train to Florence

attendance/participation in all festival events

*the Fellowship includes an $850 reduction in standard tuition rates

 

additional/supplemental costs​  

single room:  $300

wine tour:  â‚¬150 (paid in Cortona - cash preferred)

  • a brief video of your conducting (preferrably of a 20th/21st Century work) - YouTube or digital media please

  • please submit an electronic format via email/dropbox

  • contact info for a recommendor who can comment on the applicant in both professional and social settings

  • list of repertoire conducted in the past 3-4 years
